Round two

We started another week with the sickies. Gracie has not been able to kick the cough she has been sporting since she was sick two weeks ago. So, it was back to the pediatrician for Gracie. Wouldn't ya know she has PNEUMONIA! Ain't that a kick in the pants. Just when we get through being sick, we are right back were we started from, here...
YUCK

It's the worst, she is miserable. I hate that those stupid germ buggies turn my normally sweet, bubbly...

I told you she is miserable.

We will be hunkered down watching movies and the Disney channel (c'mon Wizards of Waverly marathon, for Gracie of course :)) for the next three days. Which is a total bummer, because its going to be the nicest weather of the year, so far. Oh well, there will be more sunny days and Gracie will be better soon. So until then if you will excuse me, I have a little snuggle bug to go cuddle.

P.s. Noah is (knock on wood) healthy. Plus, he makes the cutest fish face.noahthefish

Wheelchair please

So tonight was my first real session with my personal trainer. Did I mention I just signed up with a personal trainer? I can't remember but if I didn't now you know. I am now working with a trainer multiple times a week at my local gym. The best part is I'm doing it with a friend. It is great to have someone to help me stay motivated and to complain to (which I do ALOT).

OK, so our first real session. Let me say right now I want to die. Seriously, take me now sweet baby Jesus. I can't imagine my legs, arms, abs feeling any worse and I know it wont be pretty tomorrow morning. I hope Gracie and Noah are cool with laying in bed all day because that is whats on the menu for tomorrow. The worst part is that today was probably the easiest work-out we will do. Oh my goodness I am in pain just thinking about the weeks to come.

It is a good thing though. I am tired of being unhappy with my body. I told my mom "I am only 24yrs old I am to young to buy spanks and give up." I would like to say I am doing this for my kids so that they will have a healthy momma. But to be honest, I am doing this for myself. I want to feel good about myself in a bathing suit. I want to wear skinny jeans and not have love handles. I want to be Hot dammit!

So wish me luck this will probably be one of the hardest things I will ever do. I have a long way to go. But I can do it, I believe in me and I think that is a pretty good start.

Getting it right

Today While I was reading some of my favorite blogs I came across this post, My Dad Got it Right, on my friends blog Junk DNA (Check her out, she is smart, funny and has a cutie little girl). The post got me thinking about Corey and how he is most definitely getting it right.

Corey is the most amazing daddy. He adores Gracie and Noah and he makes sure to tell them everyday.
IMG_0446

He takes the time to get down on the floor and play with them no matter how tired he is.
IMG_1203

He also works hard to provide for us. Our kids don't know how lucky they are to have a dad who works extra hard everyday so that their Mommy can stay home with them.

Someday, hopefully they will thank him.

Until then, Thank you Corey for everything you do for our babies. The way you love them makes me happier then you could ever imagine. Now, lets start working on the next one. :)

Fun in the Sun

Saturday's are pretty much the only day I get to spend the entire day with my babies, so I am doing my best to really take advantage of that instead of sitting inside and relaxing which I would normally do after a long work week. This past Saturday, Joanna went shopping with her best friend, so I got the kids all to myself.

We started the day early and were outside by 10am. We love our street and our neighbors, it is such a perfect location. Grace's best friend on the street is Brady, they are about 4 months apart (Brady being older) and they love to play with each other. Brady has a younger sister, Carly (Carley? Not sure), and she is walking now, so hopefully by next summer, her and Noah will be playing together.

Grace and Brady pretty much entertain themselves now-a-days which makes my life easier. While Noah hangs out in the stroller without even making a peep usually, Grace and Brady wonder around the circle playing with their many toys.

On this day, they were mainly playing with Brady's new lawnmower which makes bubbles.

They even did a relatively good job of sharing.

We came inside for some lunch and then Grace and Noah took naps after being warn out. When they woke up they were being very cute with each other on the couch downstairs. usually Grace just bugs him, but he was actually enjoying her without pulling her hair out.

After they were done waking up and being cute, we headed right back outside. This time we headed to the back to jump on the trampoline and play on the swingset.

They played till they couldn't jump anymore.

It was a fun Saturday and hopefully they will all start being as nice out as last Saturday was so we can have some more fun.

Addiction

Hi my name is Joanna and I am completely addicted to hugging and kissing my kids. I really do need help. I can't stop myself every time i look at those little faces I just want to grab them and hug 'n' kiss them until I am blue in the face. I have no idea how to cure this disease (nor do I really want to) but I have a feeling it's my babies growing up.

So I say to my babies, please, please, please stop growing up. Also, always remember I made you so I can hug and kiss you all I want.
Love,
Mommy

Princess

Sometime I let my sassy girl wear a princess costume outside.

Because there is nothing better then a sweet, little, two year old riding her Dora big wheel in a Cinderella dress and bare feet.

Plus, I have been trying to pick my battles and wearing a princess costume in public seemed like something I could let slide.IMG_7191

Rewind

What a long day. This morning we had a bit of a rough start and even though we did have a few bright spots. I still wish I could rewind, back to this morning and try again.

Our day started with us rushing out the door to get to Noah's 9am Appointment with the ENT. You have no idea how hard this was for us. Since, I am blessed to be able to stay home with my babies, we like to relax in the morning sip coffee and eat our lucky charms at our leisure. Not today though, today we were out the door at 8:30am blah. Can I just say I have a new respect for working mothers who get their children out the door every morning probably a lot sooner then 8:30am. I applaud you. I could never do what you do.

So after our visit to the ENT we decided to go to the Zoo. Big mistake. Gracie was totally out of sorts from being rushed out the door and out of our normal routine and Noah missed his morning nap so he was a real peach. Long story short we left the zoo with-in an hour both kids crying it was awesome. When I say awesome I mean not awesome.

This set the tone pretty much for the rest of the day lots of crying, timeouts and temper tantrums and the kids weren't much better :). I did however snap a few good photo's in between the tears.

And then this face.

This face makes it all worth it.

I can't wait for tomorrow because tomorrow we do get to rewind and do it all over again.

Library

Today we ventured out of the house for the first time in five days!! It was wonderful to be among the living again. I actually wore jeans and I dressed both kids by 10am! We had a few errands to run so in order to get Gracie to be good I told her if she listened we could go to the library afterwards. It worked. Gracie and Noah were both wonderful during our errands. So we headed to the library.

First we went to look at the movies. Yeah, yeah, I know we go to the library and instead of getting books we get movies. Whats it to you?! I am a good mommy and sometimes I need 20min of peace during the day so I let my kids watch TV.... I am done now. Thank you for letting me get that off my chest.
IMG_6954

After she chose Pocahontas we went to check out the books.IMG_6962IMG_6963

Gracie picked this book of the shelf and brought it to me and I asked her if she wanted me to read it and she said, "No mommy, that book is to crunchy." I have no idea what makes a book "crunchy" but judging by the face she made when she brought it to me it isn't a good thing.IMG_6967

We just hung out for at least an hour reading books and talking. Sweet, little Noah just chilled. He crawled around for a little while then he relaxed in his stroller and drank his bottle. I love how he reclines with his feet up he is so "boy" already.IMG_6972

Check out the outfit on Gracie.IMG_6984
She picked it out all on her own. She said that it matched because its pink. Oh baby girl you are so styling. And your right because it's all pink it does match.... sort of :)

Romantic dinner for two... or three

First off, our little sassy girl is still sick. For the past five days we have been camped out on the couch like this watching whatever her little sick heart desires. I took her back to the doctor this morning and she has bronchitis. So hopefully she will be feeling better within the next 24hrs, once her medicine takes affect.
IMG_6833
As much as I adore snuggling with my first born baby. I can't wait for her to feel better and turn back into the bubbly, bouncy, two year old we know and love.

Noah is feeling much better. Besides, the ear infection we just discovered this morning. He is back to normal crawling around, talking his gibberish and enjoying playing with any toy he wants, because his sister doesn't have the energy to take them away.IMG_6858
I think it's safe to say he is not looking forward to his sister getting back to normal.

With all this sickness happening in our house Corey and I decided to have romantic dinner night. Romantic dinner is basically what happens when you have two babies and you can't always find a sitter/have money so that you can go out on the town. So we put our babies to bed early, light candles and cook yummy dinner at home and pretend we are at a fancy restaurant, in our jammies.

Everything was ready for our dinner, candles lit, and a delicious dinner of steak, potato's and asparagus.
IMG_6942IMG_6892IMG_6886IMG_6894

Then a little voice said, "mommy can I have some too?" After I picked my self up out of the puddle I had melted into, I said, "well of course you can baby girl. It will be a date for Daddy and his best girls."

So the three of us had a romantic dinner. Well, as romantic as it could be since the first thing Gracie said when we sat down to our candlelit date was, "turn the lights on I can't see!" And because she has her Daddy (maybe mommy too) wrapped around her little finger we turned on the lights. And when she didn't like the steak potato's and asparagus I served. We gave her a Popsicle.

It was hands down, the best date I have ever been on.

Carpet cleaning, sick babies and cloth diapers

Today has been a long day. First, the babies are still sick. Noah is not running a fever anymore but he is still pretty congested. Gracie is not fairing so well. She still has a pretty high fever in fact when I took her tempurature an hour ago it was up to 104.0! So, you can imagine how miserable she is.

Corey and I had been discussing getting the the carpets cleaned for a few weeks now but never pulled the trigger. However, when Gracie vomited hot pink puke (sorry for the TMI) all over the living room carpet we thought it best to schedule the cleaning.

We decided to go with Teasdale Fenton. They where great. Fast and thorough. The costumer service was good and they came out the morning after I called. The best part though was that they use all natural cleaning products.

Speaking of all natural I have been researching cloth diapers. Yeah, yeah, I know what am I thinking but cloth diapers have come a long way. These are the ones I have been researching.

See the don't seem so bad. Plus, can you imagine the money we would save if we didn't have to buy a case of diapers every two weeks? That is $80.00 a month!!! What do you think? Am I crazy? Who out there uses cloth diapers? If you use them what kind do you use and why?
